HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly mourn the victims of a deadly house fire in Cicero on February 15, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Allison Gist and various members of her family were gathered at their home in Cicero for a birthday party when a fire erupted in their home; despite the quick actions of local firefighters, 7 people were tragically killed in the fire; and

WHEREAS, The victims of this horrible tragedy are Elisha, Elijah, and Sallie Gist, children of Allison Gist; Sallie Gist's boyfriend, Byron Reed; Sallie and Byron's sons, Rashon and Brian; and Tierra Davidson, a friend of the family; 3 firefighters were also injured by the fire; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we mourn the victims of the house fire in Cicero and extend our deepest condolences to the survivors of this tragedy and the family and friends of those who have been lost; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the families of the victims as an expression of our sympathy.
