SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/27A-10.10 new

Amends the Charter Schools Law of the School Code. Prohibits a charter school from establishing or operating a contract school. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 27A-10.10 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/27A-10.10 new)

Sec. 27A-10.10. Contract schools prohibited. Beginning with contracts entered into or renewed on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, a charter school is prohibited from establishing or operating a contract school.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
