SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

225 ILCS 315/12.5 new

Amends the Illinois Landscape Architecture Act of 1989. Allows the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to adopt rules of continuing education for persons seeking renewal or restoration of registration under the Act. Provides that the Department must consider the recommendations of the Illinois Landscape Architect Registration Board in establishing the guidelines for the continuing education requirements. Sets forth minimum hours of continuing education required and content requirements for continuing education courses.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Landscape Architecture Act of 1989 is amended by adding Section 12.5 as follows:

(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2010)

Sec. 12.5. Continuing education. The Department may adopt rules of continuing education for persons registered under this Act. The Department must consider the recommendations of the Board in establishing the guidelines for the continuing education requirements. Rules adopted under this Section apply to any person seeking renewal or restoration of registration under this Act. The continuing education shall consist of at least 6 hours per year and may include relevant courses offered in various formats or mediums.
