SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy Marie Such; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Such was born in Chicago on February 20, 1922; and

WHEREAS, In 1953, Dorothy Such began work at Mary's Navy Tailors in North Chicago, a job that she loved for 35 years; she enjoyed meeting and helping sailors, which she considered her other family; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Such was affectionately known by many as "Grandma Dorothy"; every family occasion and holiday was spent together with loved ones; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Such was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Stanley; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Such was devoted to her children, Suzanne (Robert) Nyck and Kenneth, and her grandchildren, Christina (Don) Perry and Jennifer (Tom) Andrzejewski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dorothy Marie Such and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Such as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
