HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Duane Ifft on the occasion
4of his retirement as Water Department Superintendent for the
5City of Fairbury on January 1, 2020; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Duane Ifft began his career as an employee with
7the Fairbury Water Department in April of 1980; he learned the
8treatment process for drinking water and for many years walked
9the city each month collecting readings from meters; and
 
10    WHEREAS, In March of 1982, Duane Ifft attained a Class A
11license, the highest license issued from the State of Illinois
12for water treatment; in 2004, he was promoted to the position
13of Water Department Superintendent; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Duane Ifft helped achieve 15 consecutive years of
15the highest standard of compliance in accordance with the
16Illinois Fluoridation Act by the Illinois Department of Public
17Health; and
 
18    WHEREAS, In 2012, the Illinois Rural Water Association
19awarded the Fairbury Water Treatment Plant the runner-up for
20Water Plant of the Year, a recognition for providing a safe and
21clean water supply; and

1    WHEREAS, Duane Ifft has been a friendly and familiar face
2in the community, answering the call day or night when citizens
3had questions or in times of emergency; he is a man of great
4pride and integrity, and Fairbury has benefited greatly from
5his 40 years of service; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we congratulate Duane Ifft on his retirement as Water
9Department Superintendent for the City of Fairbury, and we wish
10him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Duane Ifft as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
