SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Garnet Marie Calcari of Benld, who passed away April 29, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 23, 1926 in East Gillespie to the late Arthur and Marie (Johnson) Yemm; she later married William J. "Sarge" Calcari, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4547 in Gillespie and the Eastern Star; and

WHEREAS, Garnet Marie Calcari was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Bruce Calcari; her daughter, Eva Calcari; her brothers, Harold Yemm, Leon Yemm, Ralph Yemm, Willie Yemm, and Roy Davis; her sister, Sue Hollis; and her great-granddaughter, Lark Elizabeth Bersch; and

WHEREAS, Garnet Marie Calcari is survived by her sons, William J. Calcari, Jr., and his wife, Linda, Gary L. Calcari, John Calcari and his wife, Paula, and Christopher Calcari; her daughters, Gina M. Mendenhall and her husband, Mike, and Teresa Bersch; her twelve grandchildren; and her fifteen great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Garnet Marie Calcari; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Garnet Marie Calcari as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
