SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward Alexander Todd of McHenry, who passed away on June 27, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Edward Alexander Todd was born January 29, 1926, in Chicago, to Edward and Edna (Saxon) Todd; he married Elaine Virginia Bradley on January 22, 1949; and

WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1943; he fought as a turret gunner on B-24 flying missions out of Italy over Germany; after the war, he became a union bricklayer; and

WHEREAS, From 1953 through 1972, he was a sales manager for Dee Concrete Accessories in Chicago and McHenry; in 1973, he founded JET Concrete Forming Accessories of McHenry with his sons; he never retired and worked and lived with joy and enthusiasm; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; and his son, Edward Karl Todd; and

WHEREAS, He is survived by his sons, Terry Jordan and John Edward Todd; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Edward Todd; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Alexander Todd as a symbol of our sympathy.
