SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Terrence Amore of Richmond, who passed away on May 21, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Terrence Amore was born on November 30, 1946 in Chicago; his parents were Robert and Mary (Sanders) Amore; he married Marge Corrigan on May 3, 1969 at St. Bede's Church in Ingleside; and

WHEREAS, Terrence Amore graduated from Marian Catholic High School in Woodstock in 1966; and

WHEREAS, Terrence Amore served as a sergeant in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970 and served in the transportation corps during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Terrence Amore was the owner of Mid-American Heating & Air Conditioning in Spring Grove for 15 years until his retirement on November 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Terrence Amore was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Spring Grove for many years, serving on the Finance Committee and as an usher; he was a life member of Paul C. Hoffman American Legion Post No. 253 of Richmond and a life member of VFW Post No. 4600 of McHenry; he was the president of Spring Grove Kiwanis and a past president of Richmond-Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce; he served as an assistant chief and president of the board of trustees of the Richmond Fire Department; he was a former District 13 school board member; he was a past president of the RBBA little league; and he was a youth group leader at St. Joseph Church in Richmond; and

WHEREAS, Terrence Amore was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Thomas; his grandson, Nathaniel Amore; and his niece, Cheri Amore; and

WHEREAS, Terrence Amore is survived by his wife, Marge; his daughters, Dawn (Don) Buchholtz, Christina "Teena" (Mike) Medick, and Theresa (Matt) Yegge; his son, Matt (Ellen) Amore; his grandchildren, Danielle, Rachael, Rebecca, and Hannah Joy Buchholtz, Peyton and Christian Medick, Dylan and Dawson Yegge, and Samuel, Hannah Kate, and Emma Amore; his mother, Mary Amore; his sisters, Sr. Jean Amore, Margaret "Peg" (Ray) Stevens, Barbara (Ron) Williams, Patricia "Toots" (Bill) Vavrik, and Fran (Gil) Michelini; his brothers, Wayne (Chris) Amore and Damien "Buster" (Cindy) Amore; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Amore; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Terrence Amore; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Terrence Amore as an expression of our sympathy.
