SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Seib Sr. of Collinsville on February 15, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Seib was born in Bevier, Missouri on February 20, 1924; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Seib was a retired plasterer from Local 90, where he served for 37 years; he was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville; and

WHEREAS, He was past president of the Collinsville Senior Citizens and past president and vice president of the Collinsville Democratic Club; he was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army; he was a member of VFW Post 5691 of Collinsville; he formerly played in Senior League Softball with the Horseshoe Sports Bar in Collinsville; and

WHEREAS, William Seib was an avid Cardinals baseball fan who loved sports and enjoyed playing cards; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife Ella Mae, nee Quillman, Seib; his parents, Hildabert and Alta, nee Franklin, Seib; his sister, Mary Adams; and his brother, Ronald Seib; and

WHEREAS, William Seib Sr. is survived by his children, Patti (Brett) Miller, William (Ann) Seib Jr., Jimmy (Rebecca) Seib, Tommy (Brenda) Seib, Jackie (Chuck) Vollman, and Jane Slesinski; his 28 grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchild; his sister, Susan (Larry) Carson; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of William Seib Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Seib Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
