SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rita Gonzales of Alton, who passed away on April 9, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales was born on April 24, 1938 in East St. Louis; she was the daughter of Francisco and Juana (Arellano) Morales; she married Peter Gonzales on June 4, 1960 in Fairmont City; and

WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton and loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren; she loved old movies and sewing; and

WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Ollie Martinez and Lucy Garcia; and

WHEREAS, Rita Gonzales is survived by her husband; her sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Susan Gonzales, Raymond and Jennifer Gonzales, and Thomas Gonzales; her daughters and son-in-law, Christina and Steven Gebben and Nancy Gonzales; her grandchildren, Matt Gonzales, Nicholas Gebben, Maria Gonzales, Adam Gebben, Brandon, Brian, and Alyssa Gonzales, Emily Gebben, and Christopher Gonzales; her great-grandchild, Madison Gonzales; and her brothers, Frank Morales, Albert Morales, and John Morales; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Rita Gonzales; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rita Gonzales as an expression of our sympathy.
