SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Francis "Shadow" Mudron of Joliet, who
4 passed away on April 9, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Shadow's passion was baseball; he grew up on
6 Meeker Avenue and he played on Speedboys, St. Cyril A. C.,
7 Reefers Trucking, and the Meeker Avenue Wildcats teams; Shadow
8 also played for a year with the St. Louis Cardinal's farm team;
9 he was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Amateur Baseball
10 Federation, and past president of the Will County Old Timers
11 Baseball Association; and
 
12     WHEREAS, After serving in the Navy during World War II,
13 Shadow returned to Joliet where he married Veronica McGuire,
14 started a family, and continued to play baseball for Globe Oil;
15 after playing for many years he became an umpire for numerous
16 baseball leagues in the Will County area; after his retirement
17 from Union Oil he became a starter at the Inwood Golf Course
18 where he worked until 2003; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Shadow served as the Republican Precinct
20 Committeman for over 48 years in Joliet Precinct 2; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his beloved wife

1 Veronica; his infant daughter, Sharon; his parents, Josef and
2 Anna (nee Lucas) Mudron; his brothers, Joseph and Andrew; and
3 his sister, Margaret Mrozek; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Francis "Shadow" Mudron will be remembered by his
5 children, Maureen Mudron, Patrick (Andrea) Mudron, Martin
6 (Mary Ann) Mudron, and Anne (John) Querio; his grandchildren,
7 Shamus (Mary) Mudron, Marissa (Tim) Fears, Morgan, Bridget, and
8 Kaitlin Mudron, and Neal and Ryann Querio; his
9 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ceselie, Kayla, Emma, and Wesley;
10 his brother, Edward (Barbara), his sister, Joanne (George)
11 Borman; his sister-in-law, Marian (late Andrew) Mudron; and
12 numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends;
13 therefore, be it
 
14     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
15 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
16 his family and friends, the passing of Francis "Shadow" Mudron;
17 and be it further
 
18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to the family of Francis "Shadow" Mudron as a symbol
20 of our sincere sympathy.
