SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Cinto Martinez of Waukegan, who passed away on February 2, 2008; and

WHEREAS, He was born in Orrick, a small town outside of Kansas City, Missouri, on September 11, 1915; he later moved to Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1934; and

WHEREAS, He was married to the former Mildred Mordhorst for 54 years until her passing; he worked for Johns-Manville and later Mordhorst Movers (later Crown Moving & Storage); he retired as manager in 1980, where he was known to the men as "Chief"; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the Moose Lodge and past-president of the Lions Club; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; his mother and father, Ines Rios Martinez and Pablo Vasquez; and his siblings. Albert, Mike, Lorenzo, Antonette, and Lillian; and

WHEREAS, He is survived by his only child, Jim (Dianne) Martinez; his four grandchildren, Jeanne (John Segreti) Martinez, Sandy Martinez, Traci Martinez, and Mike (Brook Haskins) Martinez; his great-grandchildren, Dania, Glancarlo, and Stefan Segreti, and Stephanie Martinez; his sister-In law, Velona Lefco; and his long time loving companion, Noreen Dolan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Cinto Martinez; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cinto Martinez as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
