SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Raymond F. Shroyer of Sandwich, who
4 passed away on March 8, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on June 25, 1934 in Chicago, the son
6 of Edward and Leora (Fagen) Shroyer; after his high school
7 graduation he enlisted in the Army National Guard and later
8 transferred into the Army Reserves, retiring after 42 years of
9 service; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He was united in marriage to Diane F. Fox on
11 November 2, 1972 in Downers Grove; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Mr. Shroyer was in the amusement business for over
13 40 years, serving as owner of Metro Amusements in Streator at
14 his passing; he was a member of the Illinois Coin Machine
15 Operators Association (ICMOA) and a Past President and chair of
16 the Legislative and Government Affairs Committee; and he also
17 served as Vice President of the national Amusement and Music
18 Operators Association, where he chaired the Affiliated States
19 Committee; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Mr. Shroyer was the recipient of the 2001 Operator
21 of the Year Award from ICMOA and was chosen over 8,000 other

1 operators throughout the United States; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Mr. Shroyer was preceded in death by his parents;
3 and his brother, Edward Shroyer; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Raymond Shroyer is survived by his wife, Diane;
5 his children, Raeann (Jim) Fuller, Joseph (Lynn) Shroyer, Ken
6 Shroyer, Sharon Shroyer, Liane (Michael) Maag, Donna Lewanski,
7 Janet Bradley, Mark Netrefa, and Laura White; his fourteen
8 grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; and his
9 sister-in-law, Arlene Shroyer; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Raymond F. Shroyer; and
13 be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Raymond Shroyer as a symbol of our
16 sincere sympathy.
