SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Randy Leslie of Elmhurst; and

WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was a graduate of Proviso West High School; he earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and his master's degree in Public Safety from Lewis University; and

WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was a 24 year veteran of the Bellwood Police Department, ascending through the department's ranks from patrolman to detective, and then to sergeant; he served as deputy chief at the time of his passing; and

WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was a former president and a longtime member of the Boys & Girls Club of Bellwood; and

WHEREAS, Randy Leslie was the beloved husband and best friend of Christine; he was the loving and proud father of Andrew, Randy, Nicky, and Isabella; he was the devoted son of Nancy and the late Gary Leslie and the son-in-law of Gilbert and Stella Salazar; he was the brother of Bradley and Todd Leslie and the brother-in-law of Doreen (Mike) Patti, Virginia (Milan) Culafic, Andy Salazar, Gilbert Salazar, and Stella (Mike) Stock; he was the dear grandson of Edward and Mary Groh; he was the nephew of Ed Groh; he was the dearest uncle of eight nieces and nephews; and he was the cousin, nephew, and loyal friend to many loving people; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Randy Leslie; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Randy Leslie as an expression of our sympathy.
