SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leo C. Hamlin of Wood River, who passed away on November 29, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Leo C. Hamlin was born April 25, 1930, in Leasburg, Missouri, to Courtney and Laura (Brown) Hamlin; and

WHEREAS, He married the former Shirley Jean Laughlin on September 7, 1954, in Jacksonville; she died June 5, 2007; and

WHEREAS, He owned and operated Alton Floor Sanding Service and retired as manager of Great Central Lumber Company in Alton; he was a 45-year member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 25, VFW Post 1308, American Legion Post 126, and the Alton-Wood River Sportsman Club; and

WHEREAS, Leo Hamlin is survived by his daughter and her fiance, Kimberly A. Gibson and Cris Brinkman; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad L. and Vicki M. Hamlin and David C. and Jennifer Hamlin; his five grandchildren, Joshua Hamlin, Traci Baumgartner, Nicole Hudson, Baylee Hamlin, and Breckyn Hamlin; and his three great-grandchildren, Dalton Baumgartner, and Bryan and Koby Hudson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Leo Hamlin; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leo Hamlin as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
