SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 hear of the death of Charles Branch Jr., who passed away on
4 November 29, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Charles Branch Jr. was born in Rolling Fork,
6 Mississippi on October 12, 1942; he was a graduate of Henry
7 Weathers High School; and he served his country in the United
8 States Army; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He enrolled in Columbia College in 1967 and
10 graduated with a B.A. in communications; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He worked for KDKO as a disc jockey and program
12 director from 1967 to 1968 and for WMPP as a disc jockey from
13 1968 to 1972; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He worked as a Human Rights Investigator and later
15 as a supervisor with the State of Illinois for seventeen years;
16 he later worked as an Assistant Administrator for the Cook
17 County Department of Animal Control; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend
19 Charles Branch Sr. and Carrie Branch; and

1     WHEREAS, The passing of Charles Branch Jr. will be deeply
2 felt by those who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
3 Elizabeth Carter; his children, Gerald R. Branch and Gsha R.
4 Branch Sr.; his grandchildren, Rodale Branch, Emanuel Branch,
5 Gsha R. Branch Jr., Starr Branch, and Elizabeth Cheryl Branch;
6 and his siblings, Bessie Branch, Emily Washington, former State
7 Senator Earlean Collins, Curtistine Obanna, James Rogers, and
8 John L. Rogers; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of Charles Branch Jr.; and
12 be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Charles Branch Jr. as a symbol of
15 our sincere sympathy.
