SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Myles M. McCahill of Alton, who passed away on October 24, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Myles M. McCahill was born August 19, 1948, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of the late Myles F. and Ann (Hyndman) McCahill; and

WHEREAS, He married the former Patricia O'Neill in November 1969 in Alton, and they later divorced; and

WHEREAS, He was a lobbyist and campaign manager for numerous political candidates for more than 20 years; he was a member of St. Patrick's Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church, both in Alton; and

WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Myles McCahill is survived by his mother; his daughter, Katy McCahill; his son, Mick McCahill; his two grandsons, Brendon Stewart and Patrick Stewart; his five sisters, Judy Patascher, Mary Lyle, Jane O'Connor, and Eileen and Sally McCahill; and his brother, Patrick McCahill; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Myles McCahill; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Myles McCahill as a symbol of our sympathy.
