SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Charla Kay Denton, who passed away on May
4 7, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Charla Kay Denton was born in Berea, Kentucky on
6 July 28, 1946; her parents were Eleanor Kathryn (Stampley) and
7 Charles M. Denton; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Charla Kay Denton lived in several places around
9 the country and overseas before arriving in Shorewood in 1961;
10 she graduated from Joliet Township High School and Joliet
11 Junior College; she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the
12 University of Illinois; and
 
13     WHEREAS, In most of her later years, Charla Kay Denton
14 worked primarily in providing housing support for the needy;
15 she had provided housing counseling since 1975, working first
16 with the Joliet-Will County Community Action Agency until 1983,
17 then with the Will County Center for Community Concerns from
18 1987 until the time of her death; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Charla Kay Denton was preceded in death by her
20 mother, Eleanor Kathryn (Stampley); and

1     WHEREAS, Charla Kay Denton is survived by her father,
2 Charles M. Denton; her brother, Robert F. Denton (Carol
3 Colatrella); her sisters, Deborah S. Denton (Joseph
4 Pinzarrone) and Deena D. (James) Hillman; and her especially
5 cherished nieces and nephews, Mattilee, Harry and Max Hillman,
6 Kathryn and Emma Pinzarrone and Charlie and Lena Denton;
7 therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 her family and friends, the passing of Charla Kay Denton; and
11 be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Charla Kay Denton as an expression
14 of our sympathy.
