SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Robert E. Hynes of Chicago, who passed
4 away on February 16, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Robert Hynes was a loving husband, proud father,
6 and passionate grandfather, who was first and foremost a
7 shining light to his family; he is survived by his childhood
8 sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Legoria; his sons, Kevin,
9 Brian (Roberta), and Michael (Isabel); and his grandchildren,
10 Enzo, Seve, Cate, Isabel, Quinn, and Emmet; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Robert Hynes was a leader in his community and
12 trusted friend to many; whether it was a good laugh, sage
13 advice, or a compassionate ear, Bob could be counted on at any
14 time; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Robert Hynes touched many and lived a life of
16 love, laughter, commitment, dedication, and respect and taught
17 those around him that life truly is not a dress rehearsal; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Robert Hynes was born in Chicago on April 5, 1944
19 to Irish immigrant parents Kathleen and William Hynes; he and
20 his four brothers Tom, Bill, Tim, and Jack were raised on
21 Chicago's Southside, each rising to prominence in his chosen

1 field; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Robert Hynes was a graduate of Loyola University
3 of Chicago and a 1969 graduate of Loyola's Law School; he
4 served as an Internal Revenue Service agent, Assistant General
5 Counsel at the Illinois Department of Revenue, and General
6 Counsel to Cook County Assessor Thomas Tully; he was a
7 brilliant attorney, practicing law in Chicago for over 35
8 years; at the time of his death, Bob was a partner in the
9 Chicago law firm of O'Keefe, Lyons & Hynes, LLC; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Those that knew Robert Hynes are sad that he is
11 gone but know they are blessed to have known him; therefore, be
12 it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15 his family and friends, the passing of Robert E. Hynes; and be
16 it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to the family of Robert E. Hynes as an expression of
19 our deepest sympathy for their loss.
