SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 1015/1   from Ch. 48, par. 173

    Amends the Public Employment Office Act. Deletes language authorizing the Department of Employment Security to establish and maintain a specified number of central and branch public employment offices in municipalities within certain population ranges and providing that those offices shall be designated and known as Illinois Public Employment Offices.

1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Public Employment Office Act is amended by
5 changing Section 1 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 1015/1)  (from Ch. 48, par. 173)
7     Sec. 1. Public employment offices; establishment. The
8 Department of Employment Security is authorized to establish
9 and maintain public employment offices, for the purpose of
10 receiving applications of persons seeking employment and
11 applications of persons seeking to employ labor, as follows:
12 One in each city, village or incorporated town of not less than
13 twenty-five thousand population; one in two or more contiguous
14 cities, villages or incorporated towns having an aggregate or
15 combined population of not less than twenty-five thousand; and
16 in each city containing a population of one million or over,
17 one central office with as many departments as would be
18 practical to handle the various classes of labor, and such
19 branch offices not to exceed five at any one time, the location
20 of branch offices to be approved by the Governor. Those offices
21 shall be designated and known as Illinois Public Employment
22 Offices.
