HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Stella Kirkpatrick of Dowell, who passed away on January 30, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was born on November 11, 1919 in Dowell; her parents were Mike and Terezia (Koss) Smolak Sr.; she married James M. Kirkpatrick on October 17, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was a homemaker; she was a member of the Dowell Homemakers and Birthday Club; and

WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was of the Christian faith; and

WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Paul Smolak, John Smolak, Joseph Smolak, and Mike Smolak; and her sister, Anna Alice Smolak; and

WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick is survived by her daughter, Betty Blanchard and husband, Robert; her son, James Kirkpatrick and wife, Brenda; her grandchildren, Bob Blanchard, Janet Stevenson, Kyle Blanchard, and Chelsea Kirkpatrick; and her five great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family and who never met a stranger; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Stella Kirkpatrick; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stella Kirkpatrick as an expression of our sympathy.
