HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate James L. Kellus on the occasion of his retirement from Laborer's Local 477 on January 1, 2008 after 37 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, James L. Kellus was born on December 2, 1951; he is a lifelong resident of Springfield; and

WHEREAS, James L. Kellus joined Laborer's Local 477 in July of 1970; he was elected to the Local 477's Executive Board in June of 1983 and to the position of Secretary-Treasurer in June of 1986; and

WHEREAS, James L. Kellus has been active in various labor organizations; he has served as a delegate and officer of the Springfield Trades & Labor Council; he has served as a delegate to the Springfield Central Illinois Building & Trades Council, the Central Illinois Laborers District Council, and the Southern & Central Illinois Laborers District Council; he has also served as a Welfare Trustee for the Central Laborers Pension & Welfare Fund; and

WHEREAS, James L. Kellus serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate James L. Kellus on the occasion of his retirement from Laborer's Local 477 and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James L. Kellus as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
