HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Breese Central Cougars Girls Volleyball Team on winning the Class 2A State Tournament; and

WHEREAS, Breese Central defeated the Hampshire Whip-Purs on November 10, 2007 by scores of 25-17, 19-25, and 25-21 to bring home the championship title; and

WHEREAS, The title was the second for Breese Central in three years and the third for the volleyball program; and

WHEREAS, Breese Central won the Greenville Regional, the Nashville Sectional, and the McLeansboro Super-Sectional before heading to the State competition; and

WHEREAS, The Varsity Coach of the Lady Cougars is Jim Cook; and the Assistant Coach is Kelly Potthast; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Breese Central Lady Cougars are Andrea Ratermann, Courtney Strieker, Tara Benhoff, Jena Norrenberns, Kati Scheer, Jessica Hemann, Lauren Budde, Allyn Beckmann, Stephanie Woker, Shelby Luebbers, Allye Wuest, Denae Schoenherr, Brittany Monken, and Kelsey Johnson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Breese Central Cougars Girls Volleyball Team on winning the Class 2A State Tournament and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Breese Central Lady Cougars as a symbol of our respect.
