1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the congregation
4 of St. Michael's Parish in Galena on the occasion of the
5 church's 175th anniversary; and

6     WHEREAS, St. Michael's Parish was built in 1832; from the
7 time of its founding, the church has provided material and
8 spiritual comfort to the citizens of the City of Galena; and

9     WHEREAS, A special anniversary Mass, choir performance,
10 and banquet will be held at St. Michael's Parish on December 8,
11 2007 at 5:30 PM to commemorate the momentous anniversary of
12 this historic institution; therefore, be it

13     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15 congratulate the congregation of St. Michael's Parish in Galena
16 on the occasion of the church's 175th anniversary and wish them
17 continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
18 further

19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the congregation of St. Michael's Parish as a
21 symbol of our esteem and respect.
