| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The Governor's Home Town Awards will be given out | | 3 |
| on November 27, 2007 at an awards banquet at the Crown Plaza | | 4 |
| Hotel in Springfield; and
| | 5 |
| WHEREAS, The City of Breese celebrated its 150th | | 6 |
| anniversary in June of 2006; and
| | 7 |
| WHEREAS, The celebration included a visit by the Mobile | | 8 |
| Vietnam Wall Memorial, a raffle for a 2006 Mustang Convertible, | | 9 |
| a vintage baseball tournament, a car show, and a parade; and
| | 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Mobile Vietnam Wall Memorial is a scaled | | 11 |
| replica of The Wall located in Washington, D.C., that travels | | 12 |
| the country; it was developed to give those who are unable to | | 13 |
| travel to Washington the opportunity to see their loved ones' | | 14 |
| names on the Wall; and

| WHEREAS, The celebration events were sponsored by the | | 16 |
| Vietnam Veterans of America, the
Lions Club, the
Fire | | 17 |
| Department, the
Jaycees, the
American Legion Auxiliary, and the
| | 18 |
| Historical Society; and
| | 19 |
| WHEREAS, The sesquicentennial celebration happened on the | | 20 |
| weekend of June 2-4, 2006; because of the community's efforts |

| on this anniversary project, the community was selected as a | | 2 |
| recipient of the 2007 Governor's Home Town Award; therefore, be | | 3 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | | 5 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | | 6 |
| congratulate the City of Breese on this award, and we wish the | | 7 |
| residents a prosperous future; and be it further
| | 8 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | | 9 |
| presented to the City of Breese as an expression of our esteem.
