1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Michael
4 C. Jenkins, a sergeant with 27 years of service within the
5 Illinois Department of State Police; and

6     WHEREAS, Michael C. Jenkins was born on July 10, 1952 and
7 departed this life on September 27, 2007; and

8     WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins was awarded the Purple Heart in
9 1992, after being injured in the line of duty; and

10     WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins was assigned for a time as an
11 Instructor at the Illinois State Police Academy, where he gave
12 vital information and examples to new State Police recruits;
13 and

14     WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins acted as a mentor and role model
15 for Illinois State Police troopers and supervisors through both
16 his words and actions; and

17     WHEREAS, Michael Jenkins was the beloved husband of
18 Lorraine "Rainey" nee Hudson; he was the loving father of
19 Robert Jenkins, Tamika Jenkins, and Tamara Jenkins; and he was
20 the loving brother of Janice, Darnella, Marsha, Clinton, and

1 Ron Reineke; he also leaves a loving mother-in-law, Mary T.
2 Hudson; therefore, be it

3     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
5 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
6 Michael C. Jenkins; and be it further

7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Michael C. Jenkins as a symbol of
9 our sympathy.
