HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Mildred Kinzig on her centennial birthday, February 3, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Kinzig was born on February 3, 1907 in Chicago; her parents were John Wilhelm and Anna Becker; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Kinzig is one of thirteen children; her brothers, Clarence Wilhelm and Father Ed Wilhelm, and her sister, Ann Dolan, will be celebrating along with her; her two children, Richard and Kathleen will also be a part of the festivities; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Kinzig spent 63 years being a housewife and mother in the same home; she has lived at Resurrection Retirement Community for the last nine years, where she makes cookies for her fellow residents; and

WHEREAS, Mildred Kinzig and her sister, the late Florence Amsteen, worked for Father Kelly and his Catholic Extension mission organization in the early 1920s; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we wish Mildred Kinzig the best on her 100th birthday; she is truly a blessing and an example to the people of the State of Illinois of a life well-lived; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mildred Kinzig as a symbol of our respect.
