HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dolores Lobbins,
4 former Assistant Principal at William H. Ray School, on her
5 retirement, June 30, 2007; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Dolores Lobbins taught for the Chicago Public
7 Schools at Fermi, Audubon, and Ray; she was always willing to
8 work in any capacity required of her, including serving as
9 clerk during a crisis period when the roof literally fell in;
10 and
 
11     WHEREAS, Dolores Lobbins special gift for seeing the
12 potential in every child earned her the job of School Climate
13 Resource Counselor at Ray School; she worked with many of the
14 most challenging children, who made great strides under her
15 care; the families she assisted stayed in touch and she
16 followed her former students progress through high school,
17 college, and their later careers; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Dolores Lobbins continued her education, earning
19 a Type 75 certificate; she was immediately made Assistant
20 Principal at Ray School and served in that position for many
21 years; and

1     WHEREAS, During the years that Dolores Lobbins served the
2 Ray School community, the school flourished, providing a
3 wonderful example of a truly-inclusive, multi-ethnic,
4 neighborhood elementary school; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Dolores Lobbins made a substantial contribution
6 to the success of the Ray School and will be greatly missed;
7 therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate Dolores Lobbins on work well done and wish her the
11 happiest of all retirement years; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
13 presented to Dolores Lobbins and to the William H. Ray School
14 as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
