HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Evelyn Jean Burns on the occasion of her 80th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Jean Burns was born to James Ibra Burns and Josephine Wyatt on September 24, 1927; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Jean Burns married Gerald Leon Lane on September 1, 1946; she is the proud mother of 5 boys, Jerry (Lynn), Gregory (Jennette), Douglas (Theresa), Jeffrey (Karen), and Scott (Selena); and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Jean Burns graduated from business school in Springfield and supported her husband in his work as a farmer, auctioneer, and mayor of Sullivan; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Jean Burns stayed at home to raise all five of her boys, then worked at Citizens Abstract and Title in Sullivan until her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Jean Burns is known in many circles for her bright smile, boundless joy, and good humor; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Jean Burns is the proud grandmother of Abby, Blake (deceased), Bret, Christopher, Dustin, Eric, Jason, Jennifer, Jessica, Jordan, Kyler, Stephanie, and Ryan, and is the proud great-grandmother of Alayna, Annabelle, Brandon, Colin, Dirk, Jacob, Lilliana, and Mikayla; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Evelyn Jean Burns on the occasion of her 80th birthday and wish her many more happy and healthy years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Evelyn Jean Burns as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
