HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Pauline Moore of Mt. Vernon on the occasion of her 95th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Moore will be 95 years old on August 11, 2007; she was born in Jefferson County August 11, 1902, 4 miles east of Mt. Vernon; and

WHEREAS, Her grandfather came from England and her parents were Walter Waite and Mary Ellen Highsmith; the Waites had 4 boys and three girls; she had a brother who lived to be 103; and

WHEREAS, Pauline married Lee Moore (now deceased) in 1936 and had 3 children, Carolyn Tate, Jim Moore, and Larry (now deceased); she has held numerous jobs, one as a school bus driver for special education children, and one in the high school cafeteria; and

WHEREAS, She lives at a senior complex at 4220 Rose Lane in Mt. Vernon; her hobbies include crocheting, quilting, and embroidering pillow cases; the items that she makes are sold at a silent auction with the proceeds going to the Waite Family Reunion; she belongs to Southside Baptist Church and is a member of the VFW; and

WHEREAS, Pauline learned to drive at 12 years of age and she still drives today; she never missed an election and is a life-long Democrat; the Waite Family Reunion will be held at the Rose Lane Community Center and Pauline expects to be the oldest person at the reunion; and she hopes they will serve her favorite food, fried chicken; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate this lovely woman, Pauline Moore, on her 95th birthday and wish her nothing but the best in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Pauline Moore as a symbol of our respect.
