HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Steven C. Fannin, Superintendent of Morris Community High School, on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Steven Fannin received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, Biology from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri in 1971; he received his Master of Science in Educational Administration from Illinois State University in 1981 and his Certificate of Advanced Study In Educational Administration from ISU in 1990; he is currently a candidate for his Doctorate of Philosophy In Educational Administration and Foundations from ISU; and

WHEREAS, Steven Fannin has a long and distinguished career in public school education; he was a teacher of Biology, Physical Sciences, and Chemistry, as well as a football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling coach at Hall High School in Spring Valley from 1971 to 1986; he was principal of Hall High School from 1986 to 1993; he served as Superintendent of Freeburg Community High School District 77 from 1993 to 1997; he went on to become Superintendent of Morris Community High School in 1997; and

WHEREAS, Steven Fannin is a member of the American Association of School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Illinois Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the State of Illinois Administrators Academy, and the Local Administrators Roundtable; he was the Vice-President of St. Clair County Administrators Association and a member of the Board of the Grundy Economic Development Council; he serves as the Prairieland Regional American Cancer Society Board Chair and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Division of the ACS; and

WHEREAS, Steven Fannin is President of the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative; he served as the President of the Grundy Area Vocational Center in 2005 and 2006; he has served the Illinois Association of School Administrators Three Rivers Region as the Region Professional Development Chair, the Region President, and as a member on the Advisory Committee for State Superintendent of Schools; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Steven Fannin on his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Steven Fannin as an expression of our respect and esteem.
