HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Andy
4 Kindle of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Centralia, who passed
5 away on March 24, 2007; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Known nationally for his TV sports coverage of the
7 Olympics, the National Football League, and the Tour de France,
8 both on CBS and later on Fox, Andy Kindle was also known in
9 Centralia as a person who never forgot his roots and who was
10 always willing to step forward to help with local projects; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Andy Kindle was instrumental in planning for a
12 National High School Basketball Hall of Fame, in saving Trout
13 Gym, and in locating the Hall of Fame in the historic
14 gymnasium; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He has served as grand marshal of the Centralia
16 Halloween Parade and was honored in Central City in 2002 when
17 signs depicting Central City as his hometown were first
18 displayed; Andy Kindle won 18 Emmy awards for his work, which
19 has included Super Bowl coverage and Olympic coverage during
20 the games which were boycotted by the United States; his
21 company, IAG Entertainment, is active on documentaries for the
22 Discovery Channel and the Travel Channel and for other

1 children's programs; the company has offices in Colorado,
2 Washington, D.C., and Tampa; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Andy Kindle was a 1964 graduate of Centralia
4 Township High School and served in the United States military,
5 including a tour in Vietnam; he later attended Kaskaskia
6 College and Southern Illinois University, where he graduated in
7 1972; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Andy Kindle is survived by his mother, Betty; one
9 son, Ryan, and wife KayLyn; one daughter, Allison Kindle; his
10 grandchildren, Jacob, Jonathan, Jackson, and Emma; and his
11 brother, Newton Kindle; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Andy
15 Kindle; and be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of Andy Kindle as a symbol of our
18 sympathy.
