HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, After 18 years of dedicated and devoted service to the residents of Niles, Tom Bondi will retire on April 30, 2007 from his position as Niles Village Trustee; and

WHEREAS, Tom was born and raised in Chicago, and he moved to Niles in 1964 with his wife Mary, and their two children, Tom Bondi, Jr. and Laurie Strzelecki; and

WHEREAS, Tom began his service with the Village of Niles in 1980 when he was appointed to the Village Zoning Board; during his service as a Zoning Board Commissioner, Tom was appointed Village Trustee to serve the remainder of an uncompleted term; and

WHEREAS, In April 1991, he was elected by the voters to continue his service as Trustee and has been reelected three times since; during his career as Village Trustee, Tom has been part of the team that oversaw unprecedented economic growth; the many services that the Village now enjoys, combined with low property tax rates, are a tribute to the contributions that Tom has made; and

WHEREAS, Tom is the Chairman of the annual Fourth of July Parade; over the years, Tom has volunteered his time and talent in many civic organizations; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tom Bondi on his retirement as Village Trustee for the Village of Niles; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Tom Bondi as a symbol of our respect.
