HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of United States Marine Corps Lance
5 Corporal Jesse Delatorre, who was killed in action in the Al
6 Anbar province of Iraq on April 16, 2007; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre attended East
8 Aurora High School, graduating with the class of 1998; he was
9 at the top of his class academically and participated in band,
10 choir, drama, and the Naval Junior ROTC; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Jesse Delatorre enlisted in the United States
12 Marine Corps and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine
13 Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out
14 of Twenty-nine Palms, California; his unit was deployed in
15 January 2007 to fight in Iraq; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre was awarded the
17 National Defense Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal;
18 he was a brave and patriotic young man; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Jesse Delatorre will be remembered by his family
20 and friends as a kind, happy, and deeply spiritual person who
21 would do anything for anyone; and

1     WHEREAS, Jesse Delatorre is survived by his parents,
2 Aureliano and Raquel Delatorre; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing
6 of United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre;
7 and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of United States Marine
9 Corps Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre and his willingness to
10 serve our country, which led to him making the ultimate
11 sacrifice; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre,
14 along with our utmost respect.
