HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lance Corporal Raymond James Holzhauer of Dwight, who passed away on March 15, 2007, in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer was stationed at Camp Legune, North Carolina; he volunteered to go to Iraq and was deployed on January 20, 2007 to Camp Taqaddum in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom, where worked in the armory in small arms repair; this was his first tour of duty in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer was born on May 15, 1987 in Pontiac, the son of Raymond V. Holzhauer and Lori J. Fraher; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer attended Dwight schools and graduated from Dwight Township High School in 2005; after graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends; he was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Dwight, Dwight American Legion Post #486, and Dwight VFW Post #2608; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer is survived by his father, Raymond V. Holzhauer, and his mother, Lori J. Fraher; his sister, Kirstin Holzhauer; his grandparents, Jim and Ruth Fraher, Ray and Shirley Holzhauer, and Carol and Gary Quigley; his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Lance Corporal Raymond Holzhauer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Lance Corporal Raymond Holzhauer and his willingness to serve his country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lance Corporal Raymond James Holzhauer as a symbol of our sympathy and respect.
