1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Brittany Johnson
4 and Jillian Ginder of the East Richland Lady Tigers girls high
5 school basketball team in Olney for their many sports
6 accomplishments; and

7     WHEREAS, Brittany and Jillian were both named to the
8 2007-07 All-Apollo Conference girls basketball team; it was the
9 fourth time for Brittany, while Jillian was named her junior
10 and senior year to the team; and

11     WHEREAS, Brittany and Jillian were part of a senior class
12 that had 104 victories, three Apollo Conference crowns, three
13 regional championships, three Sweet Sixteen appearances, a
14 State Farm Holiday Classic title, and a Mt. Zion Lady Brave
15 Thanksgiving Classic championship over the last four seasons of
16 play; and

17     WHEREAS, Brittany Johnson, the all-time leading scorer in
18 Illinois girls basketball history, is a four-time Illinois
19 Basketball Coaches Association first-team selection; she was
20 awarded the Champaign News-Gazette Class A Player of the Year,
21 the Associated Press Player of the Year, and the Illinois
22 Basketball Services Class A Player of the Year for the second

1 straight year; and

2     WHEREAS, Brittany Johnson will be attending Ohio State next
3 year; she was nominated to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago
4 Sun-Times, and AP Class A All-State first teams for the third
5 consecutive season; she is the only three-time winner of the
6 Decatur Herald & Review Player of the Year; and she is an
7 Illinois Miss Basketball finalist for the second consecutive
8 year; and

9     WHEREAS, Jillian Ginder was selected to the Illinois
10 Basketball Coaches Association All-State second team; she was a
11 member of both the Mt. Zion Lady Brave Thanksgiving Classic and
12 the State Farm Holiday Classic All-Tournament teams this
13 season; therefore, be it

14     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
16 congratulate Brittany Johnson and Jillian Ginder on their many
17 achievements and accolades and wish them all the best in the
18 future; and be it further

19     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
20 presented to Brittany Johnson and Jillian Ginder as a symbol of
21 our respect.
