HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois wish to congratulate the Marion high school freshman Lady Wildcats for an outstanding season and winning the South Seven Conference tournament; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Wildcats completed their 18 and 1 season with a commanding victory in the championship game of the conference tournament, beating Carbondale 60 to 28; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Wildcats did not experience their first loss until they were five games into the season; their one loss was to a conference foe and was later avenged; and

WHEREAS, They proved that hard work and playing as a team will always prevail; and

WHEREAS, The girls were found most every night at Washington Elementary School practicing with each other, and occasionally, working out at the high school with the junior varsity and varsity squads in Wilson Gymnasium; and

WHEREAS, The freshman Lady Wildcats are coached by first-year coach Leslie Ackerman and assisted by her sister Anna; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Marion high school freshman Lady Wildcats for an outstanding season and being victorious in the South Seven Conference tournament; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the freshman Lady Wildcats as a token of our esteem.
