HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Carol Spielman has served with distinction as a member of the Lake County Board from 1992 until 2008, serving on various committees, and during that time, she also served as a Lake County Forest Preserve Commissioner, where she served two years as Treasurer; and

WHEREAS, Carol Spielman initiated efforts to secure a $2,000,000 State grant to renovate the Adlai Stevenson historic home; and

WHEREAS, Carol Spielman has been the recipient of numerous awards, including a Friends of the Chicago River Award, a Henry Horner Good Government Award, and a FEMA Leadership Award, which have been indicative of her dedication to public service; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Carol Spielman on the occasion of her retirement and thank her for her years of service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carol Spielman as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
