HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Trojans of Triopia-Meredosia High School on winning the Class 1A State Football Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Trojans ended the season with a perfect record of 14 wins and no losses; and

WHEREAS, On November 28, 2008 they defeated the Stark County Rebels with a final score of 42-7; the championship game was held in Memorial Stadium on the University of Illinois Urbana campus; and

WHEREAS, This was the first State championship for the Trojans since 1975; and

WHEREAS, The Head Coach of Triopia-Meredosia is Rich Thompson; Assistant Coaches are Andy Phelps, Phil Roegge, Tom Sallee, Brian Marsaglia, and Tim Chapman; and the team managers are Brandon Six, Lydia Reither, and Kirby Mixer; and

WHEREAS, The Trojans are: seniors: David Arendt, Adam Brockhouse, Brian Carriger, Bobby Chute, Jacob Millard, Jacob Perry, Kellan Phelps, Jacob Whited, James Williams, and Mark Williams; juniors: Lucas Aufdenkamp, Payden Barrett, Caleb Browning, Kyle Clayton, Daylon Cooper, Jacob Fricke, Trevor Gaines, Steven Jacobson, Shaun Kerr, Clay Nordsiek, Kurtis Portwood, Dalton Surratt, and Tim Wise; and sophomores: Landyn Artman, Ethan Browning, Alec Bunfull, Bradley Dinsmore, Kody Jackson, Kody Kleinschmidt, Kyle Meyer, Cody Parrish, and Bryce Pool; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Coach, Assistant Coaches, Managers, and team members of the Trojans Football Team on their winning season and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Trojans Football Team as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
