HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor Nat C. Rosasco on being
4 inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Nat C. Rosasco and his wife Eleanor are lifelong
6 Chicagoland residents, involved in the golfing industry for
7 over 75 years; Nat was the owner of Northwestern Golf Company,
8 once the largest golf club manufacturer in the world; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Nat Rosasco started The Nat Rosasco Heritage Cup
10 Youth Fund, in which he raised nearly 2 million dollars for
11 physically challenged high school students who were in need of
12 funds for college; scholarships were awarded each year for both
13 undergraduate and post-graduate students; athletes such as Joe
14 DiMaggio, Dan Marino, Angelo Dundee, Carmen Basilio, Ted
15 Hendricks, and Joe Louis all came forth to help promote the
16 program; and
 
17     WHEREAS, There is a hole on the Cook County Joe Louis
18 Championship Golf Course named in honor of Nat; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Nat also helped start the Hook a Kid on Golf
20 Foundation, donating clubs for underprivileged children; he
21 also donated clubs to the West Palm Beach Children's Golf

1 Foundation, allowing handicapped children the opportunity to
2 enjoy golf; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Nat Rosasco has helped thousands through his
4 generosity and contributions to others; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7 congratulate Nat C. Rosasco on his induction into the
8 Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame and thank him for caring for
9 others; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to Nat C. Rosasco as a symbol of our respect and
12 esteem.
