HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize Anna Kampwerth of Carlyle on her 105th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Anna was born on February 12, 1902 on a farm in Little York, or Wade Township in Carlyle; her parents were the late Henry and Catherine Voss of Carlyle; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Anna Kampwerth has seen many changes, from growing up without electricity and indoor plumbing, to raising a family through the Great Depression; and

WHEREAS, She met her husband at a church social in Beckemeyer; on April 22, 1922 Anna and Herman Kampwerth were married at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle; and

WHEREAS, Together they were the parents of four girls and two boys, Leonard, the late Maurice, Alice, Delores, the late Evelyn, and Sister Anne Marie, PHJC; and

WHEREAS, In April of 1972 the Kampwerth's celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; together with over 60 members of her family present, Anna Kampwerth celebrated her 105th birthday on Sunday, February 11, 2007; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Anna Kampwerth on celebrating this momentous birthday and we wish her continued good health and happiness; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Anna Kampwerth as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
