HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ron Lantrip,
4 former President and CEO of SIU Credit Union, on his retirement
5 after 28 years of service; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Ron Lantrip began his career at the credit union
7 in 1980 as a collections agent; he was promoted to loan officer
8 in 1983 and to vice president of lending in 1985; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was named senior vice president in 1988 and
10 acting CEO in June of 1992; he began his duties as CEO in
11 October 1992 with one retail location and 9,300 members with
12 $31.8 million in assets; today, SIU Credit Union has three
13 retail locations, a 10-county community charter, 18 Select
14 Employee Groups, a technology and call center, and 22,100
15 members with $138 million in assets; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Under his tenure, SIU Credit Union has expanded
17 its reach and services offered to the membership; he oversaw
18 the implementation of online banking, new corporate websites,
19 computer conversions, implementation of indirect lending with
20 area auto dealers, and a sales and service culture; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He serves on the board of directors of the

1 Illinois Credit Union League; he is a memeber of the Egyptian
2 Chapter of the Illinois Credit Union League, and the Rotary
3 Club of Carbondale; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Mr. Lantrip plans to
5 spend time with family, travel, and play golf; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8 congratulate Ron Lantrip on his retirement and wish him success
9 in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to Ron Lantrip as a symbol of our respect.
