HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Boonsom Hartman of
4 Oak Forest on running two marathons in each of the fifty
5 states; and
 
6     WHEREAS, In 2003, Park Forest Running and Pancake Club
7 member Boonsom "Lipstick Lady" Hartman ran a marathon in every
8 state in the nation, and also Washington D.C.; reaching this
9 goal took eleven years; and
 
10     WHEREAS, On June 23, 2007, she reached this plateau a
11 second time when she completed her 150th marathon at the
12 Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska, becoming a
13 second time finisher in the 50 States & D.C. Marathon Group
14 U.S.A., only the 31st person ever to make that distinguished
15 list, and the first person to achieve this from the State of
16 Illinois; and
 
17     WHEREAS, She ran her first marathon on October 25, 1992, in
18 the City of Chicago, and has run eleven straight Chicago
19 marathons; and
 
20     WHEREAS, She is followed in the marathon by her husband,
21 Scott, who drives a van and encourages her by playing music; he

1 meets her at the 25th mile marker, carrying her lipstick, which
2 she pauses to apply; and
 
3     WHEREAS, In addition to the Park Forest Running and Pancake
4 Club, she is a member of the 50 States Marathon Club, the 100
5 Marathon Club North America, the 50 States & D.C. Marathon
6 Group U.S.A., and the Marathon Maniacs; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9 congratulate Boonsom "Lipstick Lady" Hartman of Oak Forest on
10 running two marathons in each of the fifty states and wish her
11 continued success as she continues to run marathons across the
12 nation; and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Boonsom Hartman as a symbol of our respect.
