HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the staff, alumni, and students of Ancona Montessori School in Hyde Park on the 45th anniversary of the institution; and

WHEREAS, The school began in the 1962-1963 school year; and

WHEREAS, The school is an innovative learning community, with outstanding teachers offering a hands-on curriculum for their students; the school motto is "Every Child is A Star"; and

WHEREAS, The school offers exceptional academic programs, unique museum partnerships, innovative teaching initiatives, and national recognition as an effective non-profit school from the Brookings Institute; and

WHEREAS, Chicago Magazine named Ancona Montessori School as one of the 25 best elementary schools in the Chicago metropolitan area in 2006; and

WHEREAS, On May 17, 2008, the school will celebrate the power and joy of learning at Ancona's 45th Anniversary Gala and Auction at the Chicago Illuminating Company; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate everyone involved with Ancona Montessori School on this occasion and wish them the best for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the administration of Ancona Montessori School as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
