HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the congregation of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Robbins on the occasion of the church's 103rd anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Bethel A.M.E. Church has been a pillar of the Robbins community for the past 103 years and has served as a source of stability and spirituality for the citizens of Robbins, both young and old; and

WHEREAS, The Bethel A.M.E. Church members have dedicated much of their time and energy to helping the children of their community; they created a Tender Heart Reading Program to help the children of their community experience the joys of reading; the church also created an abstinence and character-building program for teenagers; and

WHEREAS, The Bethel A.M.E. Church has been a cornerstone of the religious and civic history of the Village of Robbins and of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the congregation of Bethel A.M.E. Church on the occasion of the church's 103rd anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the congregation of Bethel A.M.E. Church as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
