SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

15 ILCS 205/6.7 new

Amends the Attorney General Act. Requires the Attorney General to establish and operate a Foreclosure and Mortgage Questions Hotline. Requires Hotline counselors to provide information and counseling concerning mortgages and mortgage foreclosures and to act as facilitators for communication between lenders and borrowers.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Attorney General Act is amended by adding Section 6.7 as follows:

(15 ILCS 205/6.7 new)

Sec. 6.7. Foreclosure and Mortgage Questions Hotline. The Attorney General shall establish and operate a Foreclosure and Mortgage Questions Hotline. Hotline counselors shall provide information and counseling concerning mortgages and mortgage foreclosures and shall act as facilitators for communication between lenders and borrowers.
