SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
720 ILCS 550/7.1 new
720 ILCS 570/408.1 new

    Amends the Cannabis Control Act and the Illinois Controlled Substances Act. Provides that a person who violates any of these Acts relating to the illegal manufacture, delivery, or possession of cannabis or a controlled substance while serving a sentence of periodic imprisonment or while on furlough, day release, work release, or home confinement shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than twice the minimum term and fined not less than twice the minimum fine as otherwise authorized by these Acts.

1     AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Cannabis Control Act is amended by adding
5 Section 7.1 as follows:
 
6     (720 ILCS 550/7.1 new)
7     Sec. 7.1. Violating Act while serving a sentence of
8 periodic imprisonment or while on furlough, day release, work
9 release, or home confinement. A person who violates this Act
10 while serving a sentence of periodic imprisonment or while on
11 furlough, day release, work release, or home confinement shall
12 be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than twice
13 the minimum term and fined not less than twice the minimum fine
14 as otherwise authorized by this Act.
 
15     Section 10. The Illinois Controlled Substances Act is
16 amended by adding Section 408.1 as follows:
 
17     (720 ILCS 570/408.1 new)
18     Sec. 408.1. Violating Article IV while serving a sentence
19 of periodic imprisonment or while on furlough, day release,
20 work release, or home confinement. A person who violates
21 Article IV of this Act while serving a sentence of periodic

1 imprisonment or while on furlough, day release, work release,
2 or home confinement shall be sentenced to a term of
3 imprisonment of not less than twice the minimum term and fined
4 not less than twice the minimum fine as otherwise authorized by
