SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 605/605-813 new

Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department, subject to appropriation, to develop and administer 3 pilot programs that use work therapy to assist homeless adults transition into employment. Effective July 1, 2008.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 605-813 as follows:

(20 ILCS 605/605-813 new)

Sec. 605-813. Transitional jobs pilot programs. The Department, subject to appropriation, shall develop and administer 3 pilot programs that use "work therapy" to assist homeless adults transition into employment. The Department shall adopt the rules necessary for the implementation of this Section.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2008.
