SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

215 ILCS 5/143.10d new

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that any policy or plan that provides coverage for the loss of use of a vehicle shall reimburse the insured for the rental of a substantially similar vehicle when the insured vehicle is under repair for a covered loss.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding Section 143.10d as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/143.10d new)

Sec. 143.10d. Loss of use coverage. Any policy or plan that provides coverage for the loss of use of a vehicle shall reimburse the insured for the rental of a substantially similar vehicle when the insured vehicle is under repair for a covered loss.
