1     AN ACT concerning public safety.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Gasoline Receptacle Labeling Act is amended
5 by adding Section 2.5 as follows:
 
6     (430 ILCS 20/2.5 new)
7     Sec. 2.5. Dispensing of flammable or combustible liquids by
8 minors. It is unlawful for a minor under the age of 12 to
9 dispense flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline,
10 kerosene, and diesel, from any portable container, whether
11 plastic or metal, unless the minor is supervised by an adult.
12 Each manufacturer shall affix a permanent warning label on each
13 portable container used for dispensing flammable or
14 combustible liquids that reads: "MINORS UNDER THE AGE OF 12
15 SHALL NOT DISPENSE FLAMMABLE OR COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS FROM
16 PORTABLE CONTAINERS UNLESS SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT." The letters
17 shall be three-sixteenths inch in height and shall have a color
18 that is different from the color of the container and
19 distinctive so the warning can be easily read by the user.
 
20     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
21 becoming law.
